Halliburton has been a key player in Guyana’s oil and gas sector since 2015, delivering services across all phases of the oilfield lifecycle. As the industry grows, the company, one of ExxonMobil’s prime contractors, has been expanding its local presence, infrastructure, and workforce development programs.
“Halliburton is focused on the growth of Guyana’s oil and gas sector through strategic expansion and local capacity building,” said Vahman Jurai, Halliburton’s Country Lead. “We aim to enhance our infrastructure and invest in technology and people to meet the needs of the industry.”
A core component is developing Guyanese talent. “We prioritize the recruitment and training of Guyanese nationals to fill skilled roles within our operations,” Jurai explained. “Over the last two years, we have launched an initiative in Guyana that focuses on accelerated technical development of young local professionals. This includes the Development Excellence Engineer Program (DEEP) as well as the Multi-Skill Program.” Click here to read more.
