Guyana’s thriving oil industry has increased the demand for technically skilled professionals, and the Guyana Technical Training College Incorporated (GTTCI) is preparing a new generation of Guyanese to step confidently into energy careers.
From offshore production vessels to high-tech control systems, the booming oil and gas industry is rapidly reshaping workforce needs. In response, the GTTCI has adjusted its training programs to provide Guyanese with new, in-demand technical skills. Professor Clement Sankat, Director of the GTTCI, explains that the enhanced training modules at the college are providing local oil-industry-ready professionals proficient in STEM skills needed in the rapidly evolving energy landscape.
The GTTCI Facility Simulator (FacTor) provides highly specialized, competency-based training for offshore jobs. FacTor utilizes structures that mirror offshore facilities and provides practical preparation in four disciplines – Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical and Production.
