{"id":1956,"date":"2026-08-29T15:42:10","date_gmt":"2026-08-29T15:42:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/energyguyana.gy\/?p=1956"},"modified":"2026-08-29T15:48:57","modified_gmt":"2026-08-29T15:48:57","slug":"why-investors-are-choosing-guyana","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/energyguyana.gy\/index.php\/2026\/08\/29\/why-investors-are-choosing-guyana\/","title":{"rendered":"Why Investors Are Choosing Guyana"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Investors looking to expand into new markets increasingly view Guyana as a prime destination for business opportunities and long-term growth potential.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This assessment comes from two very different investors: Xavier Cys of UAL America, a Houston-based shipping company with decades of experience serving West Africa, and Beatrice Mensah Tayui, Chief Executive Officer of Cybele Energy, the first African-owned company to secure offshore acreage in Guyana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">While they operate in different segments of the economy, both point to similar factors behind their decision to invest: a growing market, constructive engagement with government institutions, and recognition of Guyana&#8217;s promising economic future.<br>For UAL America (UAL), Guyana represented a natural extension of an existing business model. &#8220;Guyana was a perfect fit for UAL,&#8221; Cys said.<br>UAL has spent roughly five decades providing shipping services between the United States and West Africa, serving many of the same international energy companies that now operate offshore Guyana.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">&#8220;All of our customers that we serve in Africa, talking about ExxonMobil, Halliburton, Schlumberger, all of the drilling companies, SBM [Offshore], all of those are also in Guyana,&#8221; he explained.
