Staatsolie\u2019s shareholders have approved the 2025 financial statements, confirming a strong year with US$ 400 million paid into the State treasury, about 30 percent of Suriname\u2019s government revenues, according to a statement published on the company’s website.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Staatsolie and its subsidiaries SPCS and GOw2 earned US$832 million in revenue in 2025, with profit before tax of US$444 million and a US$400 million contribution to the State through taxes, dividends, and gold-related royalties. Onshore oil output was 6.35 million barrels, near the 2024 level and in line with the six\u2011million\u2011barrel target, supported by operational and technological improvements. The refinery produced 3.15 million barrels of diesel and gasoline, and Staatsolie began first commercial production of sulfuric acid.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The company reported that SPCS generated 1.46 million MWh, supplying about 69 percent of electricity demand in Paramaribo and nearby districts, while gold revenues helped offset lower oil prices. Offshore, the GranMorgu development in Block 58 advanced on schedule, with first oil still expected in 2028 and the FPSO about halfway built, and the Sloanea\u20111 gas find in Block 52 was declared commercial, with a final investment decision targeted for 2026. To fund its 20 percent stake in GranMorgu, Staatsolie raised US$ 516 million via bonds and secured a US$1.6 billion bank loan, signaling strong investor confidence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Beyond fiscal contributions, Staatsolie and its foundation invested US$ 2.7 million in social projects, and an additional US$3 million was earmarked for 45th\u2011anniversary initiatives supporting sustainable development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
