ExxonMobil Guyana and its contractors have spent over GY$600 billion with Guyanese businesses since operations began in 2015<\/a>, according to a statement issued this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The company said that in the first half of 2025, GYD87 billion was spent directly with 1,800 local vendors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year also marked a significant milestone with the start of in-country fabrication services at the Vreed-en-Hoop Shore Base Inc. (VEHSI), including the fabrication of quad joints and Pipeline End Terminations (PLETs), a major step in supporting the development of local industrial capabilities.<\/p>\n\n\n

As of mid-2025, more than 6,200 Guyanese are employed by ExxonMobil Guyana and its contractors, making up 70% of the workforce. The company  said that one in three employees are Guyanese women, and 1,800 Guyanese are currently working offshore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Guyana\u2019s oil-and-gas employees benefited from receiving over 370,000 hours of leadership, technical and professional, health, safety, and security training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are proud of the progress we\u2019ve made in developing local talent. Seeing more Guyanese take on key roles in the oil-and-gas industry is a clear sign that our commitment to capacity building is working,” the company said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With financial support from ExxonMobil Guyana, the Stabroek Block co-venturers, and the Government, the Guyana Technical Training College Inc. (GTTCI) is preparing to welcome the first cohort of students, to be fully trained locally, starting in October 2025 \u2014 a major achievement in technical education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
