{"id":1276,"date":"2025-09-18T14:22:02","date_gmt":"2025-09-18T14:22:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/energyguyana.gy\/?p=1276"},"modified":"2025-09-19T11:15:43","modified_gmt":"2025-09-19T11:15:43","slug":"over-600b-spent-with-guyanese-businesses-since-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/energyguyana.gy\/index.php\/2025\/09\/18\/over-600b-spent-with-guyanese-businesses-since-2015\/","title":{"rendered":"Over $600B spent with Guyanese businesses since 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>ExxonMobil Guyana and its contractors have spent over GY$600 billion with Guyanese businesses <a href=\"https:\/\/energyguyana.gy\/index.php\/2025\/05\/22\/10-years-of-oil-in-guyana\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/energyguyana.gy\/index.php\/2025\/05\/22\/10-years-of-oil-in-guyana\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">since operations began in 2015<\/a>, according to a statement issued this week.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The company said that in the first half of 2025, GYD87 billion was spent directly with 1,800 local vendors.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This year also marked a significant milestone with the start of in-country fabrication services at the Vreed-en-Hoop Shore Base Inc. The company&nbsp; said that one in three employees are Guyanese women, and 1,800 Guyanese are currently working offshore.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Guyana\u2019s oil-and-gas employees benefited from receiving over 370,000 hours of leadership, technical and professional, health, safety, and security training.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&#8220;We are proud of the progress we\u2019ve made in developing local talent. Seeing more Guyanese take on key roles in the oil-and-gas industry is a clear sign that our commitment to capacity building is working,&#8221; the company said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With financial support from ExxonMobil Guyana, the Stabroek Block co-venturers, and the Government, the&nbsp;Guyana Technical Training College Inc.
