Georgetown, Guyana – Energy Guyana Magazine launched its special edition titled “Women in Oil and Gas—Balancing the Scales” on International Women’s Day, Sunday, March 8, 2026.

Since its inception in late 2020, Energy has chronicled the rise of Guyana’s oil and gas industry.

The new edition highlights the careers of outstanding women featured by Energy over the past five years, alongside new voices now making their mark in technical, managerial, and entrepreneurial roles. Their stories show how Guyanese women are shaping the future of the oil and gas industry and its many spin-offs.

This special issue also captures a powerful shift: an industry once perceived as male-dominated is increasingly a space where women are claiming leadership positions and redefining norms. Their accomplishments demonstrate that gender is no barrier to acquiring in-demand skills, competing at the highest levels, and driving progress in Guyana’s most dynamic sector.

“Energy Guyana is proud to showcase the women who are balancing the scales in oil and gas. Their achievements reflect the strength, resilience, and innovation that are shaping Guyana’s future,” said Gwen Evelyn, Editor in Chief of Energy Guyana Magazine.

“Women in Oil and Gas—Balancing the Scales” is now available digitally via Energy’s website and will be promoted throughout March as part of the magazine’s continued commitment to telling real stories of progress and impact in Guyana’s energy sector.
