In a meaningful contribution to the development of youth sports in Guyana, G-Boats Incorporated, an affiliate of Edison Chouest Offshore (ECO), has donated stadium bleachers along with 250 stadium chairback seats to Guyana’s Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports. This donation was arranged following discussions with Minister Charles Ramson, Jr.

The chairbacks were transported to Georgetown aboard the G-Boats vessel MIA, and ECO paid to have the bleachers shipped commercially. The bleachers were shipped from Port Fourchon, LA, and were offloaded at G-Port Incorporated, an affiliate of ECO through a partnership between John Fernandes Ltd. and ECO. The installation was done by the Ministry at the National Gymnasium outdoor basketball court.

This initiative has greatly enhanced the experience for both players and spectators.

The bleachers are priced at USD30,950, the seatbacks at USD10,500, and shipping cost USD2,875, bringing the total to USD44,325. Additionally, ECO generously donated the vessel loading services at Port Fourchon, while G-Port contributed the vessel offloading services in Georgetown.

This donation reflects G-Boats’ dedication to revitalizing basketball for Guyana’s youth. As a proud sponsor of Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG), G-Boats is committed to the grassroots development of the sport. The latest donations aim to support the athletic, educational, and social growth of young players. Through collaborations with the Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sports and YBG, G-Boats seeks to create structured programs that enhance the quality of youth basketball in Guyana and contribute to the overall development of the nation’s young athletes.

G-Boats hopes to assist in empowering future generations of Guyana through partnerships with Guyanese communities.
